Painted bathroom!

I've been sick this past week, so I kept forgetting to take pictures. Finally did. These are pretty true-to-color.

The dizzying array of color options I had, laid out on my beautiful tile.

Here are some pictures of the old color, for prosperity. Ick. So ugly. Not even Dante liked it. :)

I'm learning a bit about this light fixture. I assumed it was original to the house, since it looks old. Turns out these things are all over ebay, and listed as "Art Deco 1930s" light fixtures! Unless a prior owner of this house retro-fitted the bathroom with that fixture (and considering the acknowledgment given to other areas of the house in terms of "historical accuracy" or "period detail," I really don't find this likely), then I have a 1930s vintage fixture in my supposedly built-in-1950 house. That doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm on to something here.

Ooooh, SCARY. Look at that hot pink that the walls used to be painted. At least I didn't have to deal with trying to prime that color.

Primed! But not primed well enough, I'd soon learn.

The sheet of vinyl that covers the lower half of the walls was very difficult to paint, especially with the primer. It did not want to cover evenly.

New color! "Mauve Tinge." It needs a second coat. You can see the blue through it in a lot of places, and I'm thinking that's effecting the way the color looks.

I think it highlights the tile really well. I'm still adjusting to the overall brightness of it. It's just such a big change in a very small space.

Ignore the sage green towels! I'll be getting new ones soon. Just can't afford to buy everything at once for it. I'm either going with dark gray or black. Don't know what I'll do for a rug; I WILL be getting rid of the two mangy white ones. I've settled on new hardware, and discovered that a local hardware and home renovation store here in town (not a big box!) actually carries what I want, so I don't have to pay for shipping through Rejuvenation! And just tonight, I won an auction on ebay for one of my 1920s "nudie girls." Now I just need to find a frame...
